Then There Was That Thing About The Weather Changing

Posted by: From Arkansas in Travel, Vacations on Oct 26 2008

Welcome back!

You know, I love living in a warmer climate. Where I used to live in Iowa, it was always cold, windy and wet or snowy in the winter. That was not and is not my cup of tea, I can tell you. And yet, here we have some cold winters too but they simply do not last as long. For instance, you might not even think it’s cold at 28 degrees or so. I do but it does not last too long, usually a few weeks. I love that part. With heating costs through the roof, we need all the help we can get. Of course, there are times when I wish we could go on a vacation. You remember in the movie the Terminator 2, good ol’ Arnie said something like “I need a vacation”? Well, that’s me right now. I need a vacation. Maybe somewhere like going to find a place to stay through Outer Banks rentals in North Carolina. I would love to visit North and South Carolina again some day.

Having seen the beaches there, I still have an appreciation for the ones here too. If you just joined us, there are two videos on this blog that show you about living in our area of the Ozarks. Not that bad really. It’s just that at some point, I would love to be somewhere that simply does not have snow unless it’s way up on a mountain top that I can see but do not have to live within some miles of it. I have this idea that heaven is going to have snow that is not cold so it’s not unpleasant. That I could live with very nicely. Because when I was a kid, I loved snow. Then I grew up. Now it’s just another pain…..well, you get the idea.

  1. I love vacations and just barely got back from one. I recommend it to everyone. I also don’t like a lot of winter, it gets me sad.

Wish I could go on a vacation to somewhere nice and warm when it gets cold. Not happening. Too many things to do right here where I am. And yes, winter can definitely make one sad. So I do what I can to not be sad.

      Thanks for your comment!

You can also give yourself a fun place to stay by going to an indoor water park. Many hotels are now providing such entertainment for the family.

Sheas last blog post..Been to a Minnesota Indoor Water Park?

Wow! Didn’t know that. Sounds like a lot of fun. We will have to search that one out. I appreciate your input on that.

      And thanks for stopping by!
