Presidential Debates Ending On Wednesday

Welcome back!
To be honest, I’m grateful. The last one, with no slam to anyone involved, seemed dry, calm and with not much new information. Both candidates did all they could to ignore some of the questions and take pot shots at each other. Some questions MUST be answered yet they both tend to go off on some other thing they want to focus on. Personally, I am of the opinion that if that’s what they are going to do, then I do not need to watch it. What I want to see is what they plan to do about this increasingly frightening crisis. Most people are afraid due to their own financial woes or the fact that they have invested their earnings and retirement money in something that is disappearing before their eyes.
We, the people, need answers not some sleight of hand track off into other fields of dreams. We need to know exactly what each candidate has in mind to do. Period. And I have the feeling that at least one of them has no clue. He says he does. He talks about some issues like he has a handle on them but…..there is this doubt that he knows what he’s talking about. The other has some solutions but they are somewhat vague and hard to understand how they would help our immediate needs. Thinking about the bailout, I am truly wondering how much impact that is having on corporate America since we are not seeing much in the way of results here in backwoods Arkansas.
In any event, the debates end on Wednesday night. I am going to release a huge sigh of relief. Looking at the calendar, I can envision a day coming soon when we will not have to listen to the election campaign anymore, regardless of outcome. I realize that sounds very much like I could care less who wins. Not the truth at all. I do have one in mind and I want that ticket to win but this campaign has been going on and on and on and on. If most of America is as disgusted and sick of it as I am, then there will be a collectively huge sigh of relief on the Wednesday after the election….again, regardless of the outcome. Isn’t that sad? America is getting sicker and sicker. I don’t know if either of the present candidates have the cure. Time will tell. I just hope we do not regret what we have become in the meanwhile.
