Election Notes: I Am Disgusted

This election and campaign that has been going on and on and on for over a year and a half is getting to the point of backbiting and character assassinations. ARE YOU KIDDING ME?? What kind of kindergarten crap is this? We the people have had to endure the longest campaign in this country’s history…at least it feels like it. And now, scant weeks before the big election in November, the candidates take the low road and go biting at each other. I am so disgusted that if I thought it would make sense, I would forget the election all together. But that does not make sense. Why? Because if I bow out of the voting privilege, then I give up any right to say anything about who gets elected and what kind of job they do.

Candidates, listen to me. WE DO NOT WANT TO KNOW ABOUT THAT! We want to know if you are going to help us out of this mess the banking and lending industry has gotten us into. We want to know if you are going to deal with Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, Bin Laden, North Korea, China. We want to know if you have a clue about doing the biggest job in this country. Do we want to know how much mud and trash you can sling? NO! Do we want to know what happened 40 years ago? NO! Know why? Because anyone can change in that length of time. This is for BOTH sides. I do not care what Obama’s previous pastor has to say. Obama cannot be responsible for what that guy says! McCain SAID it was a huge mistake. Get over it! What is the matter with you two? What is the matter with your campaign people who are throwing all this out there?

Get rid of the mud slinging. We the people want to know that you are going to do the job we elect you to do. We want to know that we can have confidence in our commander in chief. We want to know that our country will still be here next year and the one after that. We want to know that you are capable of handling anything that comes along…including one crisis after another, if necessary. We want to know that there is a cool head running this country not some hot head that is willing to throw accusations and mud slinging at the other guy or gal. This is ridiculous. Act your ages, people.
