They Drive You Nuts

Welcome back!
My nieces are teenagers. That, alone, should explain everything. The older one decided she just had to have some type of modern form of music in her hands at all times but a tape player is so passe. A cd player can be jiggled around and can lose track of what it’s playing. Even I knew that! Had it happen. So, she decided to buy one of those tiny slightly larger than a postage stamp ipods that you can download a whole load of music into and carry around.
I know that she has one since she came out of her room the last time I was at the house and handed me a small earphone so I could listen to the latest, at least to her, Alvin and the Chipmunks recording. Well, it wasn’t just them. She had some others too. I think there was an Al Yankovic in there too. Apparently, I was a new mark for this. Everyone in the house was already sick of hearing the songs played over and over again. What gets me is how little those things are. This is coming from a person who lived in the era of records and record players. You know, the people in the music industry STILL call them recordings and record deals. Isn’t that amazing? Some things change. Some things don’t.
