The campaign rages on despite the meltdown of the financial community. The Dow rallied to gain more than 500 points after yesterday’s slide downward. Amid more bailout rumors and expectations, many of the world’s credit markets still are shaky knowing that the slide could come again if the anticipated bailout does not appear. With all that going on, it would seem that an election campaign would be an afterthought. But that is not the case.

Senator Joe Biden, the Democrat hopeful for the second highest seat in the land, introduced Senator Obama at a rally with ad-libs, something Mr. Biden is famous for but is also infamous for. In a CBS interview not long ago, Mr. Biden talked about Mr. Franklin D. Roosevelt as appearing on television in 1929 to explain the stock market crash. In another interview the next day, he told the interviewer that he opposed the bailout of AIG, the same bailout that Senator Obama supported. In the Republican camp, the RNC has a “Joe Biden Gaffe Clock” which includes dates and videos of Mr. Biden’s comments. I say we get out our digital cameras, follow the man around and take all the pictures we can while the fun lasts. Who knows what gem will come out of his mouth next.

On the other side, David Wade who is spokesperson for Biden says “Unlike other campaigns that sequester running mates, we’ll proudly continue to unleash Joe Biden to be Joe Biden.” I find that to be hilarious. They know he is going to say these ridiculous things so they are excusing it ahead of time. Get those cameras ready! A new pearl of wisdom from Mr. Biden is due any second now.
