Hats Off To The Home Health Care Workers!!

Welcome back!

Recently, I was in the hospital for a blood clot in my left leg. I had no clue what I would do when I got home. My leg needed to be elevated most of the time. That wasn’t a problem since my leg hurt in just about any other position. But right before we left the hospital, we were informed that we could have a home health care individual come to the house and do some checking on me. What a wonderful thing! And it most certainly has been.

The first week, I had a nurse coming out every day to do a vitals check and make sure I was feeling all right, answer my questions if she could and, generally, do the check up that the doctor would do if I was in his office. This way, I did not need to go to his office. And as a plus, any problems that I had, the nurse would call the docs office and relay that info to him. Then, the docs office called me to talk about the problems, if any. This is great. But that was not all.

In addition to the nurse coming out, there is also a therapist who gives me exercises to do with my leg so that I would be able to get back to being active again. You have no idea how that feels unless you have been there. I am not the most active person on the planet but I do have things to do most months. This has curtailed all of that for at least a while. So, having the therapist come out and help me exercise so that I can get back to normal is awesome.

I just have to give my praise to these wonderful folks doing the home health care because it cannot be easy going into someone’s home and dealing with just about anything that happens. In my case, it’s been pretty easy since I don’t have a lot of problems and do the exercises that are needed. I want to get back up to normal again and SOON!! I hate being confined to a couch and bed. ACK!! But my hat is off to these wonderful home health workers!!! Thank you so much for being there for me. It is a comfort to know that someone cares.
