What A Month

This has been an extraordinary month to say the least. Most of the time, we have a couple of things going on but not to the extent that this month has been. We started off with me getting bit by a spider. That actually happened last month but I ended up in the hospital for the bite. Took from Friday to Monday in the hospital and a myriad of antibiotics to get rid of the after effects. Well, we thought the after effects were gone but that was not to be yet.
The next weekend, starting on Friday, we took a trip to Missouri then one to Walnut Ridge, Arkansas. That trip to Missouri wasn’t a huge stretch because we do it nearly every month going to a grocery store that has much better prices even in these days of “pain at the pump”. We do appreciate that particular store wishing that they had the sense to build one in our area. Sure would help the bankbook. The other was to what some people seem to laughingly call a train station.
And then the next weekend, I was back in the hospital with a blood clot in the leg. Seems like they couldn’t stand to be without me. Now, let’s put this in perspective. The last time I was in a hospital, it was the year 2000. Before that, 1994 and 1991. This is not something I do very much. Because before that, it was 1981 or so. I do not make it a habit to be in the hospital. Well, maybe I am in the hospital once in a while but not this fast. This has been a really strange month.
And now you are updated. There are a few things that are changing here though. For instance, we are going to think about getting some spider traps to take out those nasty little creatures so that no one else gets bitten. I have no intention of going through that again. And I have to drink more water. That is a tad hard to believe since I consume more than most people do anyway. That’s my only drink. Others like coffee, sodas and so on but not me. Water does the trick. Then, I need to do more exercise. Because of the likelihood that I helped the blood clot happen due to being sedentary. Of course, I understand that getting blood clots can happen when one is bitten by a spider too. Those traps sure will come in handy. I guess we cannot count on our cat to take care of ALL the spiders, can we?
