We Are Home From The Hospital

Welcome back!
I guess I should have written this yesterday but my head just wasn’t in it. On Monday morning, the doctor who was subbing for the surgeon came into the room. I found out earlier that the surgeon that we had been expecting the day before was actually not working for the rest of the week. At first, I thought that was a real problem. Usually when there is a sub for the doc, what they want to do is continue with the treatment until the official doc is there to sign a person out. I was not happy at that point.
The doctor was talking, at first, about seeing what happens on Tuesday. I must have looked awful because he asked me what I wanted to do. Of course, I wanted to go home. We had been thinking about our dog at home, chewing up the place while we were gone. Oh, we did have my bro-in-law and nieces going over and taking care of the doggie needs each day but they could not stay with her indefinitely. So she was home alone much of the time. I could just imagine what she had done to our house. ACK! Of course, we did not mention that to the doctor. But he must have taken pity on me. The doc being a really good guy decided to release me. YAH!
We had to stop at my Mom’s to pick up our cat who had been sick and in the vet hospital until Saturday. Everyone wanted to hear the story of the hospital trip that we had not already told them. By the time we were leaving, I was getting pretty weak. So we said our goodbyes, took our cat and went home.
The dog was so happy to see us. We were impressed that she did not feel the need to trash any part of the house. She looked none the worse for wear. And, of course, she had been looked after very nicely by my nieces and bro-in-law. We gave a hearty thanks to them all including my Mom who had to endure our cat. See, she has a cat and a dog in the house. And my sister has a cat also in the house. You could say that they were full of animals and then they took our cat in as well. It was interesting or so we heard.
When we got home, the house was understandably sort of stale. Since it has been incredibly hot, those taking care of the doggie did not want to open it up to the upper 90’s and low 100’s we had been experiencing. All I wanted to do, besides sit and recover, was to light a few scented candles that would spread vanilla or cinnamon all over the place. I have stocked up on those since I get them for birthdays and Christmas almost every year. I love it!
At the moment, the spider bite appears to be going away. The doc said it could take up to a week and a half for it to really close. That’s fine. It has been a very trying time, for sure, but I am taking all the meds they prescribed and things are settling down. Am I grateful for that.
