Us Whiners Have Got To Stick Together!

Welcome back!
In the news this morning, top economic adviser to John McCain, Phil Gramm, told news reporters that the people of this nation are simply whiners who are in a “mental” recession. The moment I heard that, I was working on putting down here what I think about such comments. And it ain’t pretty! Former Senator Phil Gramm may have it pretty good since he is now retired and doing well enough to be the top economic adviser to a presidential candidate. Don’t suppose he has too many money worries or bill worries.
However, this type of comment is why there are so many people out here that have so many problems with money, gas, housing and so on. The people of this country are HURTING, Mr. Former Senator! We don’t have anywhere else to go. We have tapped our reserves, we have taken out our second and third mortgages, we have dipped into our retirement savings and now we are coming up empty. Why? Because of greedy companies that cannot allow us to have one cent to ourselves. And whose fault is it that it’s happened? Check the list.
The first person on the list is the individual in trouble. They have made that stupid blunder in credit card debt, bad housing mortgage or whatever has put them into this fix. Or possibly it was medical and unavoidable. The second on the list is the congress. These are the people who are, for the most part, out of touch with reality. They live in their padded world enjoying their padded life and acting like they have a handle on things when, in reality, they have no clue. If they had a clue, they would have STOPPED the greedy oil companies from draining us dry. They would have STOPPED the housing market fall before it got this bad. There would have been limits set on what a credit card company could and could not do with fees and interest rates. There would have been major changes in the way companies operate in this country.
But the congress does nothing. Oh, today there was a bill signed that will give help to those who are in trouble with mortgages. Hey, where was all that help in the last year when so many people lost their homes? Some of them are homeless now. Where was all that help in the beginning so that the lenders could not do these things in the first place? Where was all that help then? This may be good for those who are still currently in trouble but what will happen to those who have already lost their homes and dignity? WHAT?
Yes, us whiners have to stick together because if we do not sound the alarm, then who will? I do agree with the former senator about one thing. The media does play things up too much. They do slant the story in such a way that it is not what it appears to be. Yes, they do that. There is no such thing as integrity in the media anymore, at least not much. There are only a couple of people in the media that I would even begin to trust and I am not as sure about them as I would like to be.
So, us whiners must stick together. Are you with me?

If anybody wonders why many people don’t like politicians all they have to do is hear people like Mr. Gramm making idiotic statements like that.
It won’t take long before they understand and join the rest of us in our dislike of most politicians.
That is exactly right. Just look at what the country is going through. High gas prices, the housing market crash, higher food prices, higher everything prices. It isn’t going to end soon. And who is going to pay and pay for it? We are. Mr. Gramm says that’s whining. Well then I guess it is.

Calling All “Whiners”!…
When I heard about Phil Gramm’s comments this morning I had the same reaction that I’m sure many other Americans caught in the middle between need and greed did.
……
Politicians have the money that they have taken out of the pockets of Americans who no longer have it available. It’s hard to choose between food, rent, medical bills, and gas to go to the doctor. Millionaires of course have no major money worries. They just want to get more of what they all ready have. It is NOT whining that is being heard. It is the babies crying because their families are homeless.
I agree with you totally. And when the greedy CEOs and office personnel get their “hardship” raises, we can all see where the money is going. I am totally sure that there is a serious need for those people to have more and more money.
Oil companies are so greedy that they post record profits and then become the WHINERS when they get to the congressional meetings. They whined that they needed more tax breaks because they didnt have enough money to do the things asked of them. ARE YOU KIDDING ME????? Remember the words RECORD PROFITS? BAH! Greed and lying go hand in hand while the rest of us suffer.
