How Funny Does A Movie Have To Be?

Posted by: From Arkansas in Movies on Jul 10 2008

Welcome back!

There are those movies that you absolutely cannot stop laughing about, right? We have several of those but the one that comes to mind is “The Money Pit”. Now, I do know that not everyone thinks this is that funny. But we do and it’s really for this one scene in it. The rest is okay but this one scene that is like a domino effect is just hilarious. In fact, if you were around when that scene came up, you would hear hysterical laughter from our house.

Let me see if I can remember it. We haven’t seen it in a while. For some reason, it has disappeared from our movie collection. By the way, that happens around here. We have no idea why. Anyway, in The Money Pit the house is all torn up. The guy played so well by Tom Hanks is on the second floor. He trips. That starts the whole process. One thing after another, a bucket of paint, a board flipping up, tarps flipped on him, a board going downward, scaffold buckling, he slides down into a huge bucket of paint ending up in a wheel barrel that heads down the hill. And on it goes. By the time he ends up at the little fountain with the statue of a boy peeing on him, I am so ready for some adult diapers before I have an accident. Tears are running down my face. And of course, I have a hard time breathing. All in all, that’s a super funny scene.

I remember that movie ! I also know the feeling of needing an adult diaper. There was another movie that had a ‘domino’ scene in it. It was called - It’s a Mad Mad Mad Mad World. Hilarious!

Yep, Mad Mad was very funny too. I can hardly remember that one though since I haven’t seen it in so many years.

      Thank you for visiting!
