Living Slow And Easy

Posted by: From Arkansas in Family stuff, Just Stuff on Jul 07 2008

Welcome back!

One of the things that I love the most about living where we do is that we live in a very rural area. The living is just like the song says, slow and easy. There are problems for sure. We really do not have adequate health care in our area. That’s because there is a real need for a rural hospital. The last one closed it’s doors for health code violations and never reopened. But aside from that, the living is so nice and slow that you find yourself not expecting big city things happening.

What do I mean by “big city happenings”? Well, we probably could not have a museum here since there’s one about 60 miles from our house. Around here, that’s close enough. There aren’t any cocktail parties right before the theater productions, at least none around where I live. The only theater production around here is a country one. If the New York movers and shakers came here, I suspect they would be bored out of their skulls. We have no high rises, no big buildings, no skyscrapers to see here. But we like it. Slow and easy does it.
