Continuing Quest For A Better Computer

Welcome back!
When my husband and I got married, I really didn’t know I was marrying into the computer age. I really didn’t. Since he didn’t have a place to set it up and no online capabilities, I had no idea that he was that interested in them. Frankly, at that point in time I thought that if you hit the wrong key, you could blow something up. Yeah, laugh if you will, I had that problem. Well, it wasn’t totally my fault. After all, Hollywood more or less portrayed it that way, didn’t it?
Well anyway, he has this color computer that still works. At first, that was all we had for me to learn on. Not that great for me. Great for him. I didn’t understand a thing he was saying about it. The best I could do is play the game Rogue and Tradewars. My husband learned about computers sitting at a store learning on one they had for display. Then he got the CoCo. We moved to Arkansas from Missouri and other things changed too. Together we bought the best computer, we thought, he had ever had. I obviously had never had a computer in my life. The guy that sold us the “new” one actually took us but that’s another story. It was huge for us. The CoCo did not have online graphics capabilities. We only saw text with it. The new computer was a whole new world.
And we have come a long way, Baby! The first “new” computer had a 1 and a half gig hard drive. Big stuff then. The memory on it was 16 mgs. WOW! We eventually upgraded to 32 mgs of hot computer memory! Were we ever getting up there. I have to tell you that since then, it has been a tiny bit of a fight to get a hold of more and more memory but we do it anyway. All upgrades are great. The current computer memory in this machine is 512 mgs. I think we have a winner! The thing is, we try to upgrade every few months but sometimes it takes much longer. I really am glad I have the one I have now. When I look back on the first computer though, I do have fond memories. (Is that a pun? Shoulda been.)
