Fashion, What’s That?

Posted by: From Arkansas in Family stuff, Memories on Jun 21 2008

Welcome back!

I have a confession to make. The world of fashion is a complete mystery to me. In fact, I really don’t care about it at all. (Diving for cover as tomatoes are thrown into my general direction) The truth is that I wear things like sweats to go to the store and pretty much everywhere else. But there was a time when I did do some dressing up. No, not just as a kid. Hey, I went to my prom dressed to the nines.

My dress was white, a formal and absolutely the nicest thing I had ever worn. I had on shoes to match, white of course. The fun part was that even though I didn’t have pierced ears I could wear some clip on earrings since Mom had lots of them. As a matter of fact, Mom never did get her ears pierced. I did. I think I was 46 or so at the time. Yes, I know. Late in life for that but it was a lot of fun too. And now, there are lots of fond memories of the prom, hoop earrings, necklaces, makeup and lots of fun doing all that. I have pictures. It’s a good thing too since I’m just about allergic to wearing anything with a skirt anymore. Ah well. Fun while it lasted.

Hay same here, I too don’t have any idea about fashion trends. I like to wear something in which I feel comfortable. Thanks for sharing your excitement for your prom dress and ears piercing. Keep ‘em coming..

You are welcome. I am a fashion dweeb. I have no clue what any of it is and I don’t care that I don’t know. Good thing I do not work in the fashion industry. LOL!

      Thanks for your comments.
