Elderly Man Struck By Car, No One Helps

Welcome back!
We have truly become a cold society when an elderly, 78 year old, man can be struck by a car and no one helps for many minutes. 10 cars pass by him and do not stop. 4 people do call in to 911 but are on the curb. None come off the curb for quite a while. None stop the traffic going by that almost hit him again. Finally, a police officer in a car comes up, then an ambulance is called. The man lying in the street had a head wound and was bleeding.
What does this say about our society? That we are cold and heartless. You know, even an animal gets more attention than this man did. The residences of the area say that that is a high crime place and they didn’t want to be involved. Are you kidding me? A guy got run down, the car took off. The only way that the police really knew anything about it was the video of the whole thing.
Anyone who doubts that we are in serious trouble as a nation and a society need only see the video of this. It is cold and bad news. It isn’t simply about the guy being elderly. Even if it had been someone younger, this is not right. It is just not right at all!!!

I saw the same video myself and wondered what was wrong with the people standing and gawking at what happened. The man was victimized by the original run down, then by the ‘watchers’, then by the drivebys. You’re right, it is a very sad statement of our society.
Yes, it was terrible. It shows that people are generally speaking cold hearted now. They do not want to get involved but they are simply by ignoring the problem and the poor guy bleeding on the ground.
