Ed McMahon In Danger Of Losing His Home

This is so sad to me. I loved watching him with Johnny Carson all those years. Then, he was on Star Search and spokesperson for American Family Publishers’ sweepstakes. I do realize that the home is quite expensive but it is obvious that he expected to be able to pay for it. Unfortunately, he is one who is getting caught in the housing market downturn much like so many others.
The worst part is that he had an injury 18 months ago and is unable to work. He broke his neck at that time. At 85 years old, he ought to be able to retire and live a good life since he has worked literally all his life. But now, Countrywide Home Loans Inc. has filed a notice of default on him and his wife. Talk about beating a person when they are down. But this must be happening to lots of people. Apparently, there is talk between the McMahons and the lender. That part is good. BUT, if this is the way they are treating people who are having this type of problem, then it’s no wonder there are so many foreclosures going on this year.
Maybe it’s time that the lenders do some helping since they are the ones who signed these folks up for those ridiculous loans in the first place. It’s about time that they took the responsibility to say that they helped people get into this precarious position. And maybe if they worked with the folks, something better would come about. What do you think about that?
