Oil Prices Rage Forward
Posted by: From Arkansas in Are You Kidding Me? on Jun 01 2008
Welcome back!
Despite the fact that it is in the power of the greedy big oil companies to change the prices of gas at the pump, there are still people who will justify their stance by saying that it’s all about the law of supply and demand. I am guessing they think that those of us who read that must be stupid and have no thoughts about this at all. If that were the case, there would be a complete willingness to accept anything and everything thrown at us. That is not the case.
However, I realize that it would be extremely difficult to get two or more Americans to agree and then act on that agreement. Americans prize their ability to get to a gas station anytime they want to do so. They prize their ability to travel where, how long and when. For this reason, most people will not refuse to go to the gas station. If we could actually agree that the oil companies are greedy and need to lose profits, we could actually get somewhere. If we cannot do that, then things will either stay the same or get worse. Because when the greedy oil companies think they can get away with this, they will continue to do the same things. And congress does nothing. NOTHING!! And when are we going to get satisfaction.
