Teacher Tells 5 Year Old He’s Pathetic!

Posted by: From Arkansas in Are You Kidding Me?, It's A Rant on May 28 2008

Welcome back!

The parents of a 5 year old boy were having problems with him which was completely uncharacteristic of him. They could not understand what his difficulty was yet he said that his teacher was mean to him. As shocking as that was, it wasn’t nearly as bad as what they heard when they sent him to school with a tape recorder in his pants pocket. Pathetic, self-absorbed, ignorant. Those were some of the words this kindergarten teacher used when talking to the 5 year old boy in her class.

She singled him out and in front of the whole class, while he was crying, she talked to the class about not being his friend. Since it was a teacher, the class did agree with her. This type of abuse CANNOT continue in the schools and we know that it does. Our schools are in such bad shape now that this is just the icing on the cake. Parents unknowingly send their children into a battle zone when the student does not even know the rules of the game.

Our niece, when she was in first grade, had a teacher who was very friendly. She loved to hug the kids each day. At the time, I thought that was great. She was a people person. Good teacher. But, one day, our niece mentioned that the teacher had the kids rubbing her back. Say WHAT??????? I could not believe my ears. Of course, we believed the niece and took action. We talked to the principal of the school who took action. The teacher did not do this again. I thought that a teacher doing that should be fired but I am not part of the school system. Things have gone downhill from there.

Such abuse as the young boy had to endure is more and more prevalent in the schools than anyone knows. I suspect that even corporal punishment would feel better than what that teacher did to this boy. What has she done to him? What will happen when he grows older and there are actions that he does not understand doing??? Something must be done to protect our kids.

UPDATE ON THE TEACHER: She has been suspended indefinitely. However, she says that she didn’t get to tell her side of the story. Of course, the recording says part of her side too.

Gosh!! I see that nowadays the teachers are reli getting too carried away! Compare to the teachers my mum used to told me when she’s still a student, many teachers now are behaving bad towards their student, sad to hear this, poor boy… of ocurse, thr r still exceptional for other teachers.

Yes, there are exceptions to the rule but there are more and more of this type of teacher in some of the public schools. One of the reasons is because the public schools cannot pay the rate that should be paid to the teachers, therefore finding better teachers to begin with. What is so distressing is that we should be paying the teachers one of the highest salaries available. We are sending our children to this person to teach them!!!! The teachers should be screened and paid A LOT of money to keep them. But that does not happen. We are paying them some of the lowest wages in the country. Is it any wonder that our children are turning out to have less and less education???

People who would have gone into teaching are doing other things that pay better. Someone needs to get a CLUE!!!!

      Thanks for your comments!!
