Rising Fuel Prices Cost Airlines So It Costs You

Posted by: From Arkansas in Are You Kidding Me? on May 24 2008

Welcome back!

Anyone who has been at the pump knows the pain there. Now the airlines are costing more as well. The big problem is that fuel prices are up so ticket prices have to go up too. But that does not satisfy some airlines. No, they have to charge a fee for you putting your baggage on the airplane that you want to ride in. Now, one airline is charging $15 for the first bag, $25 for the second bag and $100 for the third bag. Are you kidding me??? These are the same people who desperately want your business because their ticket sales are down and going further down.

Actually, it looks to me like they do not want you to ride in their aircraft now. For instance, I know that if I were going anywhere on a plane, it would be for several days. Don’t know about you but if I go somewhere for a number of days, I am going to pack what I need. That would include about two to three bags. That never bothered the airlines before. Of course, they were never as desperate to have tickets bought either. See, I believe that they would even charge for those logo pens that you see businesses give out for free, at least they used to do that. Who knows anymore.

The one thing you can totally count on with airlines these days is that you are going to pay more somewhere in the flight, whether it’s at the baggage check in or in your seat when you want a meal, to watch a movie, to get those adorable (yeah right) little samplers of peanuts or whatever you may need. You can probably look for the bathroom to be a pay toilet someday too. And people wonder why I do not want to fly anywhere. HA!
