It’s Nearly Summertime!

Posted by: From Arkansas in Family stuff, Humor on Apr 19 2008

Welcome back!

Each year, I wait for summer to show up because I love the warm weather and the time we can spend in the pool. What pool, you ask? Since we do not have one in our yard and since our yard is not flat so that we can have one, we would have to go to the swimming pool in our area near the beach. And that, in itself, is a question…pool or beach?

I do love to go to the swimming pool because you do not have to worry about stepping on something with your bare feet. When I lived near the ocean, I got a fishhook in my foot because it was right there in the surf where it should not have been. But the guy who was fishing paid no attention to the fact that he wasn’t supposed to be fishing where people swim.

So, after that, I decided I would rather go to the pool. However, I do watch where I am in the pool by the pool floats that divide the shallow end from the deep. Sometimes, I just do not want to work at swimming and others I love to swim in the deep end. It all depends on the day, how many people are there. You know the drill. Since I gained so much weight, I float like one of those pool floats anyway. Sigh. The only way I could drown is if I flipped over. ACK!!!

But I still love summertime.

That was funny! Well, not so funny for you, but I can’t believe you stepped on a hook that was still attached to a pole!

Thanks for visiting my blog. I lived in Iowa for 6 years, and you can’t beat the smell of the soil there. :-)

Actually, now it seems funny to me too. But at the time, it hurt like…well, you get the idea. And the fishhook was, indeed, still on the guy’s line but it was out quite a bit. We cut the line so he didn’t get his hook back. I did not feel a bit bad about that. He wasn’t supposed to be there at all.

      Thanks for the comment!!
