It’s A Shaky Day

Welcome back!
We live within about a 100 miles or less of the New Madrid fault line. You know, earthquakes. And, if you have watched the news anytime in the last day or so, you are aware of the quake that hit West Salem, Ill. in the middle of the night. The shaking lasted for a few seconds though I am certain that people believed it was longer than that. I have been in a quake or two. They take forever to stop or so it seems. A 5.3 magnitude quake rearranges your things in your house and let’s you know that you are not in charge. Whew!!
Actually, we did not feel it at all. As I understand it, we could have but since we were asleep, we did not. When I was in California one time in the Mohave desert stopped at a truckstop, they had a quake. I have no idea what the magnitude was but the cement floor rolled under my feet. I believed then what I believe now. I do not want to be in another quake, thank you very much!!! I cannot see how Californians accept this as fairly normal. Probably because they have to live with it. I don’t want to!!!!
