My Idea Of A Great Car: Muscle Car!

Welcome back!
For those of you who have lived under a rock for years, a muscle car is that type of car that looks like a racing car but goes on the streets. You could own a muscle car. And my favorite of all time is the Pony car, 1965 Mustang. I remember when they came out. They were not called muscle cars then. That term did not show up until about the end of the 70s, I think. Super cars, I believe they were called at the time. But the ‘Stang was a boss car that had the look I wanted to drive. Awesome. And when the GTs and Mach 1s came out, I thought I was in heaven since those were very popular Mustangs. Very popular. Of course, in those days, it wasn’t right for a mere girl to want to drive such a car but I loved them.
Now days, I have to think a bit more about family instead of the one car I would love to have. I’m not even sure I could actually fit nicely into a Mustang anymore. But I know a good ride when I see one. When the 1965 came out, I could not wait to take a ride, drive it! But how? You may not believe this since things are so different now but, at that time, I found out that I could rent a 65 ‘Stang for a few dollars and so much a mile. Uh huh. A friend and I chipped in and rented the Mustang for, I think it was $15.00 for the weekend and 10 cents a mile. They held a $25 deposit as collateral.
I want to tell you, that was the sweetest ride I have ever had. It was supreme! We drove all over the city where we lived. It was fantastic. 5 speed on the floor, awesome take off, incredible leather interior. That convinced me that I would have to actually own one some day. That day has not yet arrived. Sad, I know. But in the meantime, I have my dreams of the best cars on the road. And now, the Mustang is still popular. They changed the look to bring it back to an almost original look. I love that!
