And Just When You Thought It Was Over…Here It Is

Welcome back!
I spent years and bucks, mainly at Christmas time, making sure several kids had toys under the tree. It was a lot of fun, I admit, but there comes a time when you figure that the toy buying is over for a while, right? Uh huh. The last kid has turned thirteen so that one would be past the toy phase and she is. Now it’s all about makeup and clothes, books and all sorts of teen type things.
Frankly, I liked that idea. It’s great. You don’t have to go into the toys aisle with those crazed lunatics that have THAT look in their eyes sometime after Thanksgiving and before Christmas. You know the look…the one people get when they are scoping out the most popular toy for the season. That one year that I was in the same aisle, it was Cabbage Patch Kids. Remember those? People were nuts that year. Now it’s all about the Wii and other assorted items.
You know, I was really looking forward to that time that I did not have to be one of those crazed people. I really was. Recently, my niece announces that she is going to have a baby. Go figure.

Yep, I am going to have to do that. Of course, there are 4 nieces in all. A couple of them are way too young yet. Another is 18 and getting out of high school this year and going off to a great college. So, maybe it will be a while for the rest of them. The one will be enough for a while!!
