Serious Tornado Damage Here

Welcome back!
On Feb. 5th, we had a huge tornado run through our community. Many businesses and homes were either destroyed or damaged. It was incredibly awful. Just as the tornado was hitting (we found out later) our power went out as did so many others in our area. Just before that, my Mom’s power had gone out some 18 miles away. We were truly scared for her and my family there at her house. We also had one member of the family who was on his way home just as the tornado hit that area. My husband, niece and I were already home so we were safe. The one person who was out got caught up in the tornado but landed safely. He is fine.
We toured the businesses the next day. It was unbelievable. You know where the places are, you’ve seen them or done business with them at one time or another. Then, they simply aren’t there anymore. It’s so weird. If a place has a fire, it’s one place and it’s damaged or gone. The people will rebuild most of the time. But that’s one place. This is over 50 businesses either damaged or completely gone. Unbelievable. I am still not over it.
However, the people in our area are sturdy folk. They are going to rebuild or change locations. Some have already set up temporary headquarters, some will do so soon. Others are fixing what they have and reopening to serve the people like they have for years. Tornadoes do not keep people down here in Arkansas. And the next time you need Dick’s Sporting Goods coupons, they will have them available where ever those sporting goods are sold. It is simply amazing the way people do not allow a storm to stop them. The storm was awesomely terrible. It was 123 miles long, that’s ONE tornado traveling for that many miles!!!
