When It’s Cheap And Fun

Posted by: From Arkansas in Fun things, Travel on Jan 30 2008

Welcome back!

I have to admit, this was years ago when I was traveling extensively in a truck. I spent a good deal of time in Nevada because I had loads going into there and on to California. When I did spend time because of the weather, usually I would stay at a hotel in Vegas or in Reno that had a trucker’s discount, a good safe parking lot, give you coupons for the casino and for the food bar which was always, without fail, cheap.

Bear in mind, I am talking years ago but one of the food bars I went to fairly often cost about $1.50 and had an awesome amount and variety of foods to eat. It had everything from fish to steak to roasts and back again. The veggies were incredible and the deserts were out of this world good. I have to say that when I was laid over because of weather, I really did not mind the vacation at all. LOL!

I have no idea if those things are even going on now since I haven’t been in Nevada since about 1992. But those were the days.
