Trucking Around The Country, Seeing The Sites? Uh, No.

Posted by: From Arkansas in Odds And Ends, Travel on Jan 19 2008

Welcome back!

I really loved the trucking that I did a few years ago. Those big rigs were fun to drive and awesome to travel around in. I can’t tell you how many times I was in a place I would never have been if not for the trucking job I had. The problem was that I couldn’t really see the sites very often. It almost became a major thing with me. I would make the plans. My dispatcher blew them up. Sigh.

The one thing you could say about me was that I was a travelpro since I spent most of the time in the seat of the truck, going from one side of the country to the other side each week. I ended up in New York City more times than I could count and then in Los Angeles on the trip out west. But if you ask me whether I saw Disneyland or not, the answer is no. But I did get to see the General Post Office in New York City and Chinatown in Los Angeles. Does that count? Nah, I didn’t think so either.
