News Report Says Brits Head Wants Mandatory Organ Grab

Welcome back!
Is your body your own once you expire and have no need of it anymore? Does your family have any say in what happens to the remains? Apparently, the PM of England, Gordon Brown, is trying to get a law pushed through that will allow doctors to harvest organs from the dead without prior approval of the family members. Are you kidding me???
Under the law he is pushing through, those organs are property of the state and the family has absolutely NO say in how they are handled. The only way that they could not have the organs would be if a person, prior to death, specifically states in writing that they do not want the organs to go anywhere. Uh, excuse me here? How is a person to know what they want if they, for instance, die in a car wreck or some equally bad accident.
Now, I do have to say that I am not opposed to organ harvesting as long as the family has some say in the matter. For the record, the PM has a noble reason for this. There are too many people dying because of the need for transplants who never live long enough to receive them. Too many people are on the list waiting for long periods of time. Too many do not make it.
We have that problem in this country too. The lists are too long. The patient often never lives long enough to see the miracle of the transplant. But, I have to object because it just is not right for someone to enact a law against the wishes of the person or the family. Some day, if that law goes into effect, there will come a time when they won’t wait for the people to actually die. They will want to harvest a perfect match whether the person wants that or not. Do you want to live in a world like that? I do not.
The problem here is not just the law about to be passed. It isn’t even that other countries will follow suit, although that would be horrendous. The real problem is that most people will not believe that our country or England would ever do anything like what I suggested. Oh really? They both have abortions now. That’s the killing of an innocent victim who never had a chance at life at all. At least these folks on the waiting list had some life, however brief it might be. No, we do not want to live in such a world at all. And you should think about believing this because someday it might be your organs they want. Can you live with that possibility?
