Gary Lewis And The Playboys

Are you old enough to remember Gary Lewis and the Playboys? Gary is Jerry Lewis’ son who got into his own band in the 60s. They had a few pretty big hits on the charts. I do think about their songs occasionally since at least one was a favorite of mine at the time. The favorite I am talking about is called “This Diamond Ring” and the lyrics tend to show up in my mind quite a bit when I have nothing else to think about. LOL!
What I want to know is, girls, why are the diamond rings so important? Is it because they show you that they love you a lot? I could never really figure that out since diamond rings do not usually show up in my life. That is not to say that I do not have a diamond. I really do. My husband is a diamond…sometimes in the rough…but definitely my diamond. We do not necessarily need the diamond ring to seal the deal. On the other hand, if he wants to get me one some day, I will not turn it down!!!!
