My Memories Of Mexico At Christmas

Welcome back!
Some years ago, our ministry took a trip to Mexico taking meds, food, clothing and toys to people who were unable to provide such things to their families due to a drought year. It was an amazing trip all around.
We went to Mexico for Christmas because a ministry in Texas was going and we joined them. Not only did we find incredibly friendly folks but also the wonderful town that we stayed in. The sisters that gave us housing for the two weeks we were visiting were great. Even though we did not speak Spanish and they did not speak English, we got along just fine. It became something of a game to try and make known what we needed or what they were trying to tell us. Those ladies were such loving and giving folks.
During our stay, we walked around the town and saw many sights including the town square that looked quite a bit like one in the U.S. that I had visited in a small town. The square had a nice little park in it with a gazebo in the center for folks to go and rest a while. It was incredibly peaceful with very little traffic sounds. Most of the people there did not own a car but they did not care about that.
We also spotted a Biblioteca which means library. Inside, much like our libraries here, they had the Biblioteca stack where you could go to research the subjects that interested you. For instance, that particular town had a famous son, an artist. We were blessed to meet him on a day that he was not creating pottery. His pottery is known worldwide. It is absolutely awesome. While I did buy a couple of his smaller pieces, we could not even begin to afford the bigger pots but they were so incredibly beautiful. We did get pictures!!! The trip was awesome.
There is a story to tell about the children in the town but that is another story to tell soon.
Merry Christmas!!
