A Gap In My Blogging! The Whole Thing Was Down!

Posted by: From Arkansas in Blogging, It Ain't Sorted, So What on Dec 08 2007

Welcome back!

For the first time since we have had the particular service for our domains, they had problems that were so bad that we were not able to get to our websites and blogs for quite a while. Now that we are back up and running again, it is a relief to be able to write on here.

I think the problem was that I really did not want to blog for a couple of days. So, I took a little vacation. Then, just when I wanted to go back to it, the problems happened. When the blog was inaccessible, suddenly I realized how much time I put in either working on the blogs or thinking about what to write. It was like cutting off part of me when I found out that the blogs were not there for a while. ACK!! The importance of blogging and my website were top priority all of a sudden.

It was a great revelation to find out just how important these blogs and website really are. Isn’t it weird that you only notice how important things and people are when they are no longer around? I suggest strongly that we all learn to appreciate what we have a lot more. We should appreciate who we have in our lives more as well. Did I get all that from a missing blog? Yes!! Most of us do not really think about the people in our families and friends until one or more of them are missing.

My daughter lives in Iowa. She will not be with the rest of the family this Christmas. I haven’t seen her in some years and I really miss her. And the worst part? The problem is MONEY, that’s it. We have no way of helping her come here. She needed to pay for getting her car fixed before the big snow and ice storms come in, which they have already started doing. We will miss her again this year.

This is also the time of year that I miss my Dad the most. Not really because of Christmas but because we all gather together in celebration of Jesus. Dad was always there. Our family actually gets together almost every week but there is something about that Christmas celebration that brings this out in people.

Don’t get me wrong. We have a very happy day when we get together in celebration but it’s also about the gift giving. My happiest moments come when someone opens something that my husband and I got for them and they love it. That brings so much joy to me. The look on the face is precious.

Today, we have our service back but I have decided not to take that for granted again. That’s what I learned from all this. Not bad.
