A Pet Peeve Of Mine About Blogs And Comments

Posted by: From Arkansas in Are You Kidding Me?, It's A Rant on Dec 03 2007

Welcome back!

Once again tonight, I was prevented from commenting on a blog because I have not joined their particular whatever. Therefore, I am not allowed to comment. As you can see here, my blog..although somewhat moderated for spammers….allows comments so that I can see what others think about things. However, one blog I read tonight makes it practically impossible to comment. I do believe that is so that they do not get those comments that tell them how wrong they actually are.

For instance, I will actually link to this guy’s blog because I want them to get the full benefit of my PR0 blog now that googoo has spanked me too for putting up paid posts from time to time. (WAAAA!! That’s for googoo’s benefit..I’m hot tonight!! LOL!) This particular person does NOT check his story before he posts it. But just in case he does happen to read this post (doubtful since he is such an elitist as a blogger), he really needs to realize that at least a few of those urls are from people who do not work for the company he is talking about. Tisk, tisk, tisk. Boy, that sure does blow his credibility, now doesn’t it.

That was extremely evident when I read the blog post called “Analysis of a (company name deleted) Spam Campaign - Why (company name deleted) Just Exploded”. In it, he sited several blogs by putting their urls without links as bad examples with a particular company I will not name here but you can see there.

All the time he is slamming, he is putting in link after link after link. I suspect those were paid postings. If not, they were surely spam linking. He slams it while doing it himself. Hypocrite!! This guy is calling people jerks while he is obviously being one himself. Perhaps if he were to check his information first, that would help. Otherwise, he is just another jerk lying his posterior off.

    Hi Jaz,

Thanks for dropping by my site. Yup, mine was one of the ones that he drastically got all the facts wrong on. But, all I have to say to him is THANKS for the traffic!! I’ve had a really good day today because of this. lol

      Hi Kim,

Good to know that. Glad you got something out of it. A member of my family also had a blog on that list and it was wrong too. Ah well. At this point, any traffic is good traffic, right? LOL!

      Thanks for visiting and commenting!

I’m with you: Those laborious ‘registration’ processes for blog commenting are the bane of my existence! Thanks for making yours oh-so-easy.

Another pet peeve: A couple of times I’ve been ’spammed;’ allegedly by various filters; but I can’t help but wonder if it’s something similar to what you’re describing.

I suspect it is like what I described. I get a bunch of spammers that are auto and say the same things over and over again. My favorite is one that basically says “I couldn’t understand all of it but this post looks interesting.” Uh huh. It says that on really simple posts. Ah well.

      Thanks for commenting!!

I, too, dislike it if I cannot comment on a blog. If I take the time to read a post and want to add my two cents worth - it is very frustrating to find that I must sign or be a member or whatever!

Yes, that’s what I mean. Some of those blogs are on a webhost site that requires you to join it to comment. Those sites are small sometimes so if you really want to comment, then you have to sign up here, sign up there. Eventually, you will signed up for hundreds of sites that you will likely not visit again. BUT you will get their emails. BAH!

      Thanks for visiting and commenting!
