Next Thursday Is Thanksgiving. What Are You Giving?

Posted by: From Arkansas in Family stuff, Fun things, Holidays, In The House, My Take on Things on Nov 17 2007

Welcome back!

Next Thursday is Thanksgiving in the U.S. We tend to celebrate this holiday as a tradition but many do not even know what the celebration is about. For me, it is about being thankful for so many things in my life. Yes, we have had some hard times and still are having them. You would think that with all that going on we would not be thankful for anything. Yet, we praise God for our abundance and life.

Our family gathers at my Mom’s home where we partake of the usual table spread. We give thanks to God for what we eat but also for what makes our day, week, month and year so very blessed. We live another year. We have a Father in heaven Who watches over us and gives us strength in time of need. He is our rock and our joy, our blessing and our shelter, our fortress and our hiding place. I am truly blessed to be a child of God on this, our Thanksgiving day.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!!
