Bad Blogs Are Bad For All Of Us

Welcome back!
Bad blogs are bad for everyone. I have seen some truly awful blogs on the net. They should be left alone to die. Problem is that this is a judgment call and everyone has their own opinion about it. There are some bloggers out there that will never be understood by most of the people because they have this higher, intellectual thing going on. They like it that they talk in what one television show calls “word salad”. Those are not great to me because I think everyone ought to be able to read everything on the net. But that’s only my opinion.
There is a whole blogging community out there that some call “blog snobs” because they believe that blogs should never have paid posting on them. That’s their opinion. Mine is that it’s my blog and I will do what I want with it. I accept paid assignments occasionally. Want to know why? Because I get paid to do them. My blog, my business.
Then there are those truly bad blogs out there that want to be paid to be horrifying so they sign up for paid blogging. Then a company puts them to work. Here’s the rub. That company needs to recognize the bad blogs right from the start but they don’t. So, people complain about the bad blogs in the company. Thing is, if a company doesn’t like the product, remove it. Don’t like the blog, remove it. Advertisers can make their feelings known by simply not allowing that blog to write for them.
If companies would simply stop paying the bad ones and readers would stop going to them, they would eventually go away. But the problem is that everyone wants to see a bad blog when someone else says…”hey, did you see that horrible blog called *****? Here’s the link. YOU go there and see how awful it is.” When that happens, the blogger either gets the idea that he has a great blog because of traffic and that no one knows what they are talking about or they know it’s horrible but with all that traffic, why not keep going. Plus I’m getting paid to do this!
So, it’s really about what everyone does with the bad bloggers. I would suggest this:
1) If you find a blog and it looks that bad, and no matter what anyone says it’s still a judgment call in many cases, report it to the company and let them decide…if they will do that anyway. I am aware that there are companies that keep the bad bloggers on and simply gripe about them.
2) If you see gossip about a blog that’s bad, don’t go read it. That just fuels the fire.
3) Don’t you gossip about the bad blog. That just fuels the fire.
This is just my opinion, rant, whatever. It makes sense to me that if the blog fails to get noticed, it fails and will eventually fade away.

I agree with you. I really hope mine isn’t one of the “bad” ones! LOL!
I’m curious, in your opinion, what makes a blog bad? I’ve seen some that are “less than interesting” to me. They have little or no content and what content they do have is so totally boring I want to stick a fork in my eye!
There are a number of types of bad blogs, IMNSHO. The ones that glare at me are those that have really horrible language problems. I respect that not all people blogging speak English but if they want to have English speaking people read it, it has to be at least understandable.
Then there are those who simply have not spent any time learning writing skills. Now I realize that mine are not that great but at least I try to spell the words correctly and sound at least sort of like I have a brain in my head.
Some of these blogs are so brain-dead that you could not find any reason whatsoever to have it there. Not even the obvious advertising seems appealing.
Those are just a couple of what I would consider bad blogging. Now I have to tell you that I am certain there are those who would say that mine is bad blogging too since I do not always say the right things. I am NOT a politically correct writer, by any means, nor will I ever be that.
