Georgia Money Problems Halt Murder Trial

Brian Nichols, who is being charged with murder in the deaths of a judge, court reporter, deputy sheriff and a federal agent, has no money to pay lawyers for his defense. He escaped from a previous rape trial in which those officials were also participating. The state has cut off funding to the defense team since he cannot pay for a reasonable defense himself. The defense team had already been funded with $1.8 million so far.
