Illinois School Has “Hug Free” Zone

You know, I can see where principals and teachers would want to cut down on the violence in schools. That makes sense on so many levels. I can understand that those same officials would want to cut down the possibilities of teens and children getting sexually active in schools. I can understand that they would want to make sure that there is no inappropriate touching going on. That makes a lot of sense. But….I cannot understand why they would want a “Hug Free” zone or school. That makes little sense.
According to the principal of that particular school, students were hugging in the halls and becoming late to class. She simply does not want to see rampant hugging!!! It is appalling how hugging is running out of control in that school!!! Oh brother. If hugging is their worst problem, they are truly blessed.
Is it just me or is there a serious problem with this woman’s thinking?
