Those Were The Days…I Don’t Want Them Back

Posted by: From Arkansas in Family stuff, Just Stuff, My Take on Things, Odds And Ends on Sep 27 2007

Welcome back!

When I was young and really stupid, I used to try almost anything. In those days, it was a big deal to go out drinking with your friends and it was usually a lot of drinking, going from one bar to another. Sometimes, it was going to the bar, then going to someone’s house to have some more. By the time a person was done with all that, they needed a cab to go home but usually did drive anyway. That happened a lot.

In those days, we didn’t have the fancy alcohol rehabs that you see now. Nope. All you had then was your family, parents, spouse who might or might not take you back into the house if you came home in that condition again. I was single so I didn’t have anyone to answer to..in theory. My parents had little knowledge of what I did since I was of age and living in my own apartment. I just wish I had made better choices then. But I guess I would not be who I am now if I had changed things. That’s a deep thought. Hmmm.
