There Is No Intelligent Life Here

Welcome back!
I guess I have to explain that title. Right now, I haven’t got an intelligent thought in my head. Dunno why other than I have been on the go for days now. If it isn’t one thing, it’s another. One person in my family was in the hospital, which (so conveniently), is about 70 miles from our home. I should mention here that where we live, there is no medical place that you could even laughingly call a hospital around here. We have doctors but the hospital that was here closed down because of violations of the health code. Nothing has opened to really cover that lack since then.
That means that everyone around here either has to forget it or go at least 60 miles to a hospital. It is definitely a pain at the least and could be a real problem for so many people. We live in a retirement area of Arkansas. There are thousands of senior citizens here and the last thing we need is a lack of health care.
I do not even want to go into the health care question because that brings up those lovely candidates and their so-called solutions. HA!!! Okay, how about forced health care meaning that you have to see a doctor at least once a year. How about it’s mandatory to HAVE health care. (She looks around carefully) We ARE still in the United States, right? Land of the free? Home of the brave? Uh huh. Wondering about that one.
