The Kids And Our Lovely Education System

Welcome back!

There things that I have to say “Don’t get me started” but in this case, the system has already done that for me. How do you feel about kids going to school to learn how to make kites? Watch moves unrelated to the class? Read unrelated books while class is in session? Or how about the one that gets me mad just thinking about it….taking time out of the class for a secondary class on “How To Take The State Test” called Benchmark so that the state can show up with really great stats when the federal government comes calling with it’s federal funds for the No Child Left Behind Act. Everyone who likes this..raise your hand. Hmmm, not that many. How many hate it? WOW!! Look at all those hands!

So, knowing that the school system stinks and knowing that the state government does not do much about it and knowing that the federal government actually encourages this, what are we going to do about this thing? That’s what I thought. Most of the voting public will be sleeping instead of voting. That’s about what happens every time the vote comes to their community. What do I want? Voters!! Lots of voters. Become informed and then get into that voting booth (if they have one…we don’t. Just a table and chairs. Everyone knows your name kind of thing) and vote whatever you choose but VOTE!!!!
