Clinton Offers To “Make” All Americans Have Insurance

Welcome back!

Hilary Clinton, not happy with almost derailing her husband’s seat in the White House, has brought a new health care plan to the table. In it, she says that the plan requires all Americans to have insurance but that the government will help pay for it. Mrs. Clinton was the one who put together an insurance plan that collapsed during her husband’s first term in 1994. She has given up on that complex plan and wants to go for simplicity.

This is a quote from a story I read about this by Beth Fouhy through the AP:

“It puts the consumer in the driver’s seat by offering more choices and lowering costs,” Neera Tanden, Clinton’s top policy adviser, told The Associated Press. “If you like the plan you have, you keep it. If you’re one of tens of millions of Americans without coverage or don’t like the coverage you have, you will have a choice of plans to pick from and you’ll get tax credits to help pay for it.”

First, if it did put the consumer in the “driver’s seat”, it would not be mandatory that people have health insurance, now would it. Lower costs would be great if only there were doctors that had a clue. Too many do not and the schools are not responding to need. They are responding to the almighty dollar, spinning out as many doctors as possible yet the quality of health care remains the same, crappy in the old Clinton stomping grounds. It has been that way for years including the Clinton years. Isn’t it sad that she is more interested in her own way than taking care of the people she serves.

Frankly, she has a lot of nerve putting her so-called great health care plan into action when the Clintons could not even take care of their home state. I am relieved that they think New York is home now. There is no way I would want any type of plan that includes MAKING people do things like they like to do in Washington.

They already have a law like this in Massachusetts, where I live. If you don’t have health insurance, and can’t show proof of it, you lose your standard deduction on your state taxes. Way to go, MA, for causing the working poor to suffer all the more…damned if they do, damned if they don’t.

There are cheap subsidized health plans, but they are a joke as to what they cover. you’d be better off just flushing your money down the toilet.

On the other hand, I heard on some news show that John Edwards wants a socialized health plan, as in what they have in Canada…but he’d also require that ALL Americans see a doctor once a year. As someone who has an aversion to doctors, I’m not in favor of this, either. If this came to reality, I’d move to Canada before I’d see a doctor. I’ve had enough bad experiences with doctors to know that I don’t want to see one ever again. I will die first.

I have no idea right now who will get my vote now. maybe I’ll just write in one of my cats, they’d probably do a better job, anyway.

It figures about Mass. Kennedy probably had something to do with that one. Really, I am not for or against any particular party..and now it is increasingly evident that I don’t want to choose by party. Ugh!

So far, I think you are right. A write-in vote for the cats is a more positive note than what these candidates have in mind. In all cases, so far, they want to rule people. I cannot go for that.

I wish I was able to not go to doctors. With my problems, I have to see a doctor every three months. I hate it too. I have a similar aversion to doctors and would rather not ever see another one.

Thank you for letting me know about Mass. I will be checking on that more. This just is not right for the poor folks. Completely takes away freedom from them and us. Sigh.
