Google, Google, Where For Art Thou, Google?

Welcome back!

I have to say that I am disappointed in Google in some ways and certainly not in others. In the way that I am disappointed with Google, it has to do with page rank. We feel like we are being held hostage by the Google ranking system that is taking so long to happen.

For those of us who depend on that ranking for our blogs, it is so disconcerting that the wait continues to go on and on and on and the rank remains the same. The Page Rank Export List History Table says that Google has waited 137 days this time to update. There are folks who say that it will never update again due to a change they are making in ranking practices. Others say we just need to be patient. I am not, by nature, a patient person. And mine is wearing thin. Grrrrr!

There are those who will say that the ranking is not that important. Probably it is not to those who do not depend on it for an income. Page rank often determines what type of income is possible. It is a sad fact that we must look to this company that has so much power over the little guys.

In another post where I am not unhappy with Google, I shall post something nice about them. Harumph!

    And then to make it worse, when it comes .. it may not come again for a long time.

      You have that right. GRRRR!!! Of course, if the rank is a good one, that’s great but from what I saw, mine will only step up one. That means it could be half a year before it does it again. Sigh.

    Google can be a pain to wait on. I once had a PR5 site that I kind of let go, it went back down to a 1, and I’ve been working on it ever since.

      Oh no! That would be a pain too. Google is a pain. They seem to like it that we have to wait with our collective breath being held. Sooner or later, it has to come loose, right?
