Sept. 11th Anniversary And The Politics Rolls On

Welcome back!
Today is the sixth anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Center, the Pentagon and the downed plane in Pennsylvania. You would think that people could respect the solemn nature of the day but there are people who care more about themselves than they do the day. From intense arguments about where to hold the ceremony (which is a duh moment to me) to whether a candidate should speak at this ceremony to whether or not it’s fitting to hold such a large ceremony this time. Sigh.
Firefighters, construction workers and first responders were among those who will be present to read off the names. There was a bitter fight over wanting to speak the names closest to where they died. As disgusting as it may seem, while they are reading the names of the loved ones, Osama Bin Laden is going to play a video of himself reading the will of one of the hijackers. This is utterly horrendous and it is hoped that none of the television networks will broadcast it.
Firefighters who are suffering from health problems stemming from the rescue work they did on and after 911, are furious that Giuliani is going to speak again this year but this time as a candidate for President.
The list goes on and on of the infighting and the backbiting that is going on concerning this day. Americans, this ought not to be so. This is a horrendous day in our nation’s history and it should be solemnly be noted and with unity of purpose, not fighting because you did not get your way on whatever the subject.
If this continues, it becomes the SHAME OF AMERICA!! We need to stand united as a country once again just as we did on that day. We need to REMEMBER SEPTEMBER 11th as if it happened today.
