Pavarotti Dead At 71
Posted by: From Arkansas in Commentary, My Take on Things on Sep 06 2007
Welcome back!
It is with a great deal of sadness that I read the news article about this amazing singer. He has been one of my favorites for several years. In fact, I really do not care for opera, per se, but I loved how he sang his songs. When he and the other two gentlemen, Mr. Domingo and Mr. Carreras, did the CD..Three Tenors In Concert, I got the CD and the video of the concert.
My all time favorite aria from him is “Nessun Dorma” which he did at his last performance which he sang during the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in Turin, 2006. Luciano Pavarotti was equally at home with the operatic soprano and the Spice Girls. They called him too commercial. He scoffed at them and said “who cares”. We need commercial.
He is already missed.
