This Just Isn’t The Week For Little Old Ladies

Posted by: From Arkansas in Are You Kidding Me? on Aug 23 2007

Welcome back!

After having told about that last little old lady who was growing marijuana, this deal seems almost tame by comparison until you look at how this lady is treated by the local police. This time, it is not a special plant. It’s a brown lawn. Apparently, a brown lawn is against the municipal ordinances. The homeowners are required by law to maintain their landscape. This particular little old lady did not. She is 70, by the way.

When the police showed up to talk to her, she pulled one up into the house. Unfortunately, in the process she tripped and ended up against a door jamb, which injured her nose. She was cuffed and hauled off to jail. Red faced city fathers had her released later. She is charged with
two misdemeanors, one about the brown lawn. The other was about her resisting arrest. Now there’s a picture. A 70 year old woman resisting a police officer who was obviously in better shape than the little old lady. Uh, she didn’t have any water for the lawn. It was turned off at her request. Likely because the bill was too high.

That is absolutely terrible. The city should be glad she’s conserving water. Much of the country is suffering from a draught, so they should look on the bright side of things.

You would think that the lady could be given a break on that but, of course, the police and the government do not see it that way. For one thing, I cannot believe that they needed to haul her away in cuffs. What do you want to bet they have a water conservation thing going on too. I should have mentioned that in the post. It’s California, after all. BAH!
