Is The Internet Swaying The Voters? Oh, You Bet!

Posted by: From Arkansas in Are You Kidding Me?, Shame of America on Aug 23 2007

Welcome back!

I just started to read a news article on MTV and MySpace putting on a candidate debate when I noticed this one tiny little thing. Of course, I probably would not have noticed ordinarily but today, I guess I am more observant. The page with the news article on it had two candidate pictures on it while the story talked about several candidates from both parties. Each picture was of a front running candidate. The problem I saw was that they were both from the same party. Not only that, but the top picture was apparently the candidate they want to win.

Now, is this on some small news site? NO! It was on a very busy website that includes top news stories. Thinking back, I do recall that in the past they have carried news stories that mostly trashed one side and gave favor to the other. The pictures would be subtle and subliminal so you aren’t really thinking about what they are doing.

BAD, BAD, BAD. What ever happened to unbiased reporting? Did it go out with the twenties and prohibition maybe? Look, I am not ridiculous enough to believe that we could have unbiased reporting. Not only is that too much to ask (being somewhat sarcastic here) but I am certain that there are those who read this who will believe I am as biased as the news article. Come to think of it, I am. I am biased against any media that manipulates the voting public. That just about covers all the media in one swoop. Yes, I am biased against them.

So, now what? is anything going to change? Oh, you bet. It will get worse and worse and someday you will never get the truth from any media story because the truth will not be in them to give. Oh wait! That’s where we are now.

This is another post on the Shame of America. Now back to our regularly scheduled, biased programming.
