Books, Books And More Books

Welcome back!
If there is one thing I love to do, it’s read. When I first learned how, I could not find enough books to venture through. Having thought about it, nothing has changed. If there’s a book in the area, I want to read it…well, unless it’s horror or sex type books. Not interested in those. Not interested in vampire stuff. Too creepy.
I did read Cujo and a couple of other books after a friend of mine recommended them. Of course, at the time, she lived out in the sticks and one night she was all alone. The house was sort of old so it creaked all the time. She was reading Cujo when she started to hear those noises. You know, the creaking and the tapping and the crickets. She got so scared, she backed into a corner and sat down on the floor. Thing is, she just couldn’t stop reading because it was getting to the really intense part where…what was that???? She looked around but no one was there. After a bit, she went back to reading again. BARK! BARK! BARK! The book flew up into the air and clunked her on the head.
End of story….I teased her for weeks over that one. If you get scared alone in the house and you have a dog, read a cat story! DUH!

I can relate. I love to read and can’t remember a time when I wasn’t reading.
I can also relate to reading scary, thrilling books while alone.
Once when I was babysitting, I was reading a Stephen King book…the one about the vampires, I can’t remember the name now…anyway, I had put the kids to bed and I was reading and looked up at the sliding glass doors and almost had a heart attack from my own reflection.
Needless to say, I was wide eyed when the kids’ parents came home.
Must have looked like a crack head.
LOL! Done that one myself. Scare the…well, you know.
