Gunman Kills Three In Church In Missouri

This is hard for me to write. It’s so close to my heart both because it was in a church and because it was in Missouri though the church is in the southwest corner of the state and we lived in the middle. Appparently, a gunman, who knew people in that church and was related to others, shot and killed three people and wounded several others. Some of the injured fled the scene so it is not known just how many were actually hurt. It is also not known at this time what the reason for all this was.
The police are not releasing any information concerning this man. He did hold 25-50 people hostage for a brief period of time while negotiations were going on for him to surrender. He did surrender and is currently being held at a county jail in Neosho, Mo. The guy did have some firepower. The guns were two small-caliber handguns and one 9 mm semiautomatic machine pistol with a large magazine. Whew!
What might have brought him to this was an incident concerning him and another family in the church. This is so sad. Prayer for the all the families involved would be appropriate at this time.
