Rude Skinny People Bug Me

Posted by: From Arkansas in Are You Kidding Me?, It's A Rant, What Drives You Crazy? on Aug 03 2007

Welcome back!

Okay, I do admit that I am not the smallest person in the world. In fact, I am not the largest either. I show up in the middle somewhere. And since the U.S. is getting bigger all the time, I cannot see why it is that skinny people are so rude to fatter people.

For instance, in a restuarant, I have been treated like I shouldn’t even be there. Not allowed to eat until I lose all that weight. People have stared at me like I am an alien. Am I that big? I really do not think so but even if I am, what right do these people have to treat me like I belong somewhere else not inflicting myself on them? Why must they be so rude????

How about this? I never liked people smoking near me when I eat or any other place. I don’t like smoke in my face. It makes my food taste nasty at times. BUT, people used to inflict their smoke on me.

Then there are those who smell bad. I was in a pizza place a while back…(yes, I am allowed in there regardless of size). A guy that worked there smelled so bad that I did not have much to eat until he left the area. Now, I know. I should not have been there in the first place, right? Probably not (at least according to skinny people). But he was inflicting an odor on me. I did not stare at him making him feel uncomfortable. I left him alone. It’s his problem. And I do not know why he had it. Not my business.

So, skinny people who can eat and eat and eat and not gain weight need to quit being so rude. You know who you are. (I kind of expect to get some really interesting comments over this) I should make this one more comment here. It is a known fact that skinny people who eat all they want of what they want usually end up with cholesterol problems because it does not matter if you’re skinny or fat, they happen to everyone who does not watch what they eat.

So, how about all the skinnies in the country, just for the heck of it, mind your own business. I like that concept. This is the entry into the latest What Drives You Crazy category.

i’ve never seen the situation where a skinny person is blatantly rude to a bigger person but i know exactly what you mean about the smoking issue. i wish that it was like in the commercials, where smokers all morphed into fish heads and people were not afraid to look at them in disgust. if everyone would that - it would easily take out the ‘cool’ factor of having a cigarette in your mouth. plus, you’d turn into a fish.

LOL!! I love the fish idea. Thank you for the laugh. I really needed that today.

Why don’t you just ignore them? Just like Michael Jackson, if you ignore him enough in your life, he will just go away somewhere. It’s when you fight back, then they win!

BTW, it’s just extra beauty, we’ve all got it except those damn skinny ones(LOL)

LOL!! Actually, when the rude people would stare at me at a restaurant I used to stare back until they got really uncomfortable. At the time, I believed that they needed to be what they did to me, uncomfortable. Now, it’s a little different. I think we ought to pray for them. They need it so desperately.

      Thank you for your comment!!

Falling into that “rude skinny person” category I felt that I needed to weigh in on this (no pun intended).

I think it is less of a skinny - fat debate, It is a polite and rude debate.

Not all of us have a problem with bigger people. Heck, I don’t have a problem with anyone. It’s one world, and as long as we’re being forced to share it… why not enjoy each others company?

Thinking about what you said, you are right. It really isn’t about the skinny/fat thing. My Mother is super skinny yet not rude. I am fat and not rude. It’s a rude/polite thing.

Thank you for commenting. That one got me thinking a bunch.
