Is China Hazardous To Our Health? Oh Yeah!

Welcome back!
Once again, we hear about things coming from China that are hazardous to someone’s health. Today, it was toys again. Fisher-Price is recalling 83 dolls and toys made for pre-schoolers because they have excessive amounts of lead in the paint used to decorate the toys.
Have we not yet learned anything? First, it was our pets. Then it was our food. Then it was a series of toys. Now it’s toys again. Come on!! Who is going to get the point? When are we going to see the light and stop the influx of Chinese imports? Can we influence the big companies to stop buying from the Chinese? What is it going to take to wake up????
Okay, I am taking this directly from a news story written about this very thing.
It says “The worldwide recall being announced Thursday involves 967,000 plastic preschool toys made by a Chinese vendor and sold in the United States between May and August. It is the latest in a wave of recalls that has heightened global concern about the safety of Chinese-made products.”
Ah, ya think? Heightened global concern, does it? So, when will it heighten to a point where we cut these people off from selling or importing into our country???? I realize it may be diplomatically incorrect to cut em off but really. Do they have to kill most of us off before we get a GIANT CLUE here??? They do not want us to live through to the next decade let alone century. Why don’t we see this? Sigh.

When are we going to start holding these manufacturers to a higher level of quality? I realize that we purchase because of the lower cost and higher efficiency, however when will we begin to take into account the effectiveness of their production?
When we, the consumers, get so angry at the constant recalls and possible danger to our children, I guess. The question is…are the savings that they get from buying like that worth the recalls and lawsuits that come from the problems associated with China? I would say they are not worth it.
They should wake up. Consumers can make a difference. We need to continue to blog about this!
