Japan Earthquake Damages Nuclear Plant

Welcome back!
A day after the quake that hit northern Japan, the nuclear plant at Kashiwazaki is suffering a huge list of problems including burst pipes, radioactive water leaking and fires breaking out. This is only one concern amid many others that have plagued the 55 nuclear plants with a large number of accidents and coverups.
Tokyo Electric Power Co. is saying that there have been 50 cases of malfunctions at the Kashiwazaki-Kariwa nuclear plant since the earthquake on Monday that registered 6.6. The officials at the plant are saying that the problems are pretty much minor and there is no threat to anyone at this time.
Perhaps the biggest trouble here is that the Japanese plants are subject to those quakes and are not prepared to deal with them since they are so vulnerable. As for the worldwide concern, we should be extremely concerned. When there is a major accident, they will not be the only ones hurt in this. These things affect the environment as well as people. We need to hope that the Japanese are as capable with this as they are with so many other things. I have no doubt that they will have the best people on this.
