Popups Drive Me Crazy!

What drives you crazy? Popups do that to me. Now, before you go giving me the 411 about adblocking, I do that. This particular little deal came when I was checking out some blogs that looked interesting. When I closed out the page, a box comes up to tell me that I have a hack problem and that if I go to this page, it will go away. Yeah right. I was not born yesterday, didn’t fall off the banana boat this morning and so on. So, no I did not go to the site. I clicked on the ok in the box and when it left, so did I.

This really gripes me. I sympathize with anyone who has a problem with this. I usually do not but then up until recently I did not do a lot of visiting other blogs either. But now, I found them to be interesting and fascinating so I read them.

Also, I am collecting urls from websites that are incredibly annoying with little catchy songs and goofy animals or creatures talking or making weird noises. Why am I doing this? I dunno. It’s funny. And they are too.

But today I found one that was truly annoying to the max. It had a box come up that welcomes you to the site. You click that off and another one appears. It says something else to welcome you. Then another one and another one. I tried to leave but nothing would happen until you clicked the box off and another one appeared. It took me 200 clicks to get rid of it. ANNOYING!!! I could have hit Ctrl-Alt-Del but that would have gotten rid of the tabs I had open. Bah!!!

So, the moral of the story is this. Get rid of the popups any way you can and then scream. It feels really good.

    they drove me crazy too. but actually it´s not a problem for me anymore since i have the firefox browser and anti-pop-up-add-ons. what really drives me mad is when websites are confusing like hell and you are stuffed with information you don´t need.

      Yes, blogs and websites that you can’t make heads or tails of is very confusing for me too. Popups are still a problem but I misnamed what was going on yesterday. It was more of a javascript box that was so annoying.

    Hi Jaz,
    I hope you didn’t experience pop-ups at my blog? I had some pop-up problems in the past and I had to remove almost every script to get rid of them.

      Don’t know about that one. I had fun looking through the movie titles though. I just HAD to mention how many movies I’ve seen. Actually don’t know how many. Too many to count now. :) Thank you for commenting.

      Yes, I do run adblock. I should clarify that I used the wrong word on this. What came up was a box that is not covered by that. It was annoying to the extreme too. But it wasn’t actually an ad. I need to watch what I am talking about with computer related posts. *blush* Thank you for commenting.

      I did it again. The boxes that came up were Javascript.
