The Pickups Rule In Our Area
Posted by: From Arkansas in Odds And Ends on Jul 15 2007
Welcome back!
My husband and I live in pickup truck country. There is no doubt about it. We live in a rural area. Everybody has a pickup….except us. No reasoning there. We simply don’t have one..yet! When my Dad was alive he used to have a pickup. In fact, I used to have a pickup. It was an oldie but a goodie and I loved her. She could haul more weight than you would expect. The pickup was a shortbed with no truck toolbox but we could have used one, that’s for sure.
My baby was a 1956 Ford pickup..was white but the ex-goof started to take the paint off. He had never done that before in his life so it was not pretty. When he was done sanding and primering, my truck looked a little strange. Sort of like the thing had the measles only LARGE ones. I called her Spotty from that time on. I had that pickup for quite a while until one day the ex-goof took her for a spin and came back with a ride. Seems he sold her without my consent. I am still not a happy camper over that. Good thing he isn’t around here anymore. GROWL!
